Peter Niro Jr.

Peter Niro, Jr., 57, of New Britain, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on December 10, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Judy (Soucy) Niro. Peter was born in Hartford on August 17, 1967, son of Angela (Manocchio) Niro and the late Pietro Niro. He grew up in Newington and moved to Berlin in 1999. Peter was a devout catholic and faithful member or St. Francis of Assisi Church in New Britain. Peter led an extraordinary career in landscaping and real estate investing. One of his greatest passions was his farm, Niro Family Farm, where he cared for and looked after his many animals. If he wasn't on the farm, he enjoyed vacationing in Florida, Italy and Aruba. Most importantly, Peter was a loving husband, father, step-father, son, brother, and uncle, and will be greatly missed.
Along with his wife, Judy, Peter is survived by his son Peter Niro, III, and his wife Michala; daughters Daniella Niro, and Gabriella St. Amand and her husband Coleman; and step-daughters Sierra Prisco, and Samantha Fazio and her husband Chris. He is also survived by his mother Angela Niro; brother Frank Niro and his wife Mary (Puba) Niro, and brother Anthony Niro and his wife Nanette; sisters Irene Tirabassi and her husband Frank, and Maryann Iacobucci and her husband Tom; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Peter's family on Monday, December 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. He will be laid to rest in the Chapel Mausoleum at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. His family would like to thank all of the doctors at Hartford Hospital and Mass General for the exceptional care provided to Peter.
