Peter Noonan Obituary
Peter's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to service, both in his career and his military endeavors. Peter was a veteran of the US Army who bravely served during the Korean War and even received the combat infantry badge for his exceptional valor.
Throughout his career as Deputy Chief of FDNY, Peter touched the lives of many through his selfless dedication to protecting and serving the community. His contributions will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Peter leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. He is predeceased by his first wife Joan McKendry Noonan and survived by his loving wife Jean Noonan and their children: Joan Romero, Jeanne Vitale, Jeryl Bennek, Noreen (William) O'Shea, Peter M. (Lisa) Noonan, Barbara Noonan, Steven Noonan (Lisa), and Christine (Paul) Milana, and Michael (Kerriann) Meyers. He was a proud grandfather to twenty-one grandchildren: Paul & Victoria Romero, Gerard (Angie), Lindsay & Brandon Vitale, Christopher Bennek, Brenna & Kelly O'Shea, Nick Orlando, Peter Christopher & Matthew Noonan, Kieran & Mikayla Gaspar, Spencer, Karyn & Bryce Noonan, Alexa & Paul T. Milana, and Sarah, Emily & Lillian Meyers; and great-grandfather to Riley, Gerard and Gianna Vitale. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Gerry) Noonan along with numerous other family members and friends. Peter is now reunited with his parents Irene and Peter M. Noonan in eternal peace.
Services to honor and celebrate Peter's life will be held at Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island in Middle Island, NY on Sunday, April 14th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM for visitation followed by another visitation from 7:00PM - 9:00 PM on the same day. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mark's R.C. Church in Shoreham, NY on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 10:30am. Following the mass, family and friends will proceed to Calverton National Cemetery, where Peter will be laid to rest.
Peter J. Noonan will forever be remembered for his dedication to duty and selfless service to others. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a significant impact on all those around him.
