Peter North Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Washburn-McReavy Funeral Chapels - Coon Rapids on Dec. 8, 2025.
Peter Glen North, 75, passed away on December 4, 2025. He was born on April 20, 1950 to Glen and Jean North.

A lifelong sports fan and true armchair coach. He voiced his feelings in victory and frustration from the kitchen table. Pete was a proud grill master, known for his beef tenderloin, a frequent whistler, a loyal Sudoku and crossword puzzler, and a man with an undeniable sweet tooth.

A devoted husband, proud dad, and delighted grandpa, Pete enjoyed travel and family vacations, especially with extended family.

Pete enjoyed the arts in all forms: band and choir concerts, musicals at the Orpheum and Ordway, and live music of any kind. Old school at heart, he read a paper newspaper every day and appreciated a beer and a bump in the evening. Pete faced many medical setbacks over the years, meeting each one with remarkable strength, humor, and a positive attitude that inspired everyone around him.

Survived by wife of 51 years, Sue; children Katie (Nick) Churchill and Joe (Lindsey) North; grandchildren Max and Amelia Churchill; brothers Paul and Art North; and extended family and friends. Preceded in death by parents Glen, Jean, and Betty North; in laws Dick and Eileen Toskey; and sister in law Linda Toskey.

Celebration of Life service 11AM Monday December 15th, During the service, there will be an opportunity for people to share a memory of Pete, if you're so inclined. There will be a visitation one hour prior to service and 2-5 PM Sunday, December 14th.

All events will be at the Washburn McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd. Coon Rapids, MN.
