Peter Noto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. on May 26, 2024.
Peter Noto, an artist and creative director, passed away peacefully at his home on May 25, 2024, at the age of 83. Born January 26, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. He is pre-deceased by his parents Jack and Katie Noto and his loving brother, Albert Noto.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Elaine (nee Cipriano), his devoted children Jeanne-Marie Atkins (Tim), Catherine Johnson (Rich), and Peter (Carmela). Peter was a cherished grandfather to Jack, Kyle, Evelyn, Domenick, William, Elaine, and Sophia.
His passion for art was evident from a young age as he pursued a degree in Art from NYCCC. However, it was his knack for directing that would lead him to a successful career in the Advertising Industry, where he was involved in creating ads for companies such as Garanimals, Gucci, Mateus, and Nicoderm.
His works garnered much respect, however, his career was cut short by cancer which he battled and overcame, demonstrating remarkable resilience and strength. In his later years, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, a condition he faced with unwavering courage and dignity. Through his health struggles, Peter continued to create, finding solace and purpose in his family, writing, art, and photography.
Throughout his life Peter saw beauty where others did not. For many years he could be found at a family event family with camera in hand. He made many memories on his travels, near and far. His camera and wife Elaine were always by his side.
For seventeen years he and Elaine were snowbirds in Southwest Florida. It was there his passion for nature and painting blossomed. He toiled many hours over a canvas getting the perfect light on the latest subject in Country Creek. Additionally, he left a legacy for future generations having published his book, amemoir, in 2019.
Although he was prolific with his art, advice, and sense of humor, it was his quiet, kind presence that will be missed most. His spirit and artistic brilliance will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him..
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
