Peter Thomas Oliver

Peter Thomas Oliver, born September 30, 1954, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 20, 2025.
Peter was the beloved son of Norwood and Barbara Oliver, and the devoted brother of Jack Oliver, Cathy Mott, James Oliver, and Paul Oliver.
He attended Austin High School in Detroit and went on to study at Aquinas College. Peter built a long and respected career as a manufacturers sales representative in the automotive industry, where he was known for his professionalism and for building lasting relationships rooted in trust and integrity.
Above all else, Peter loved his family. As a husband, his love was unconditional. He was steady, loyal, and deeply devoted, offering quiet strength, constant support, and a sense of safety. As a father, he was a steady guide, leading with presence and patience. His children always knew they were supported and never alone.
In the face of illness, Peter showed the same strength that defined his life. He faced it with resolve, courage, and grace, fighting hard while remaining grounded in his love for his family.
Peter was also a proud grandfather, known lovingly as Papa. He found joy in simple moments, sharing stories, laughter, and time together. His calm, reassuring presence made his grandchildren feel safe, seen, and deeply cared for.
Peter is survived by his wife, Kelly (née Burke) Oliver; his children, Nora Kochkodan (James) and Michael Oliver (Lindsey); and his beloved grandchildren, Brooks Oliver, Jameson Oliver, and Olivia Oliver.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Parish in Grosse Pointe.
