Peter Penney Obituary
Catholic Church, 921 N. Merriwether St., on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1:30 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Franklin lwuagwu officiating. Burial to follow at Texico Cemetery, 374 CR8 in Texico, NM with military honors presented by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Peter was born on December 19, 1939, to Edward and Effie Mae (Wood) Penney in West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Peter proudly served 20 years in United States Air Force as an, Rescue and Fire Protection Operator. He retired November 1978, as a Tech Sgt, after his military career he taught a computer class at Clovis Community College. Peter was a member of the Clovis Sunrise Optimists Club and served as President, Vice President and as the Lt. Governor on the Library Board, he was also the President of Friends of the Library all in Clovis. He enjoyed being a line judge for volleyball, particularly for the Texico School Wolverines in Texico. Peter was devoted Catholic and served as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church.
Peter is survived by his son; Christopher Edward Penney of Iowa, a brother; Christopher Randolph Penney of New Hampshire.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Effie Penney, four brothers; David Penney, Francis Penney, Jordon Penney and James Penney, two sisters; Susan Penney and Mary Penney
