Peter N Pond ,63 of Oneco, Connecticut , passed away September 14, 2025 after a three year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his fiancé Brenda Craig and his longtime friend, Tony Costa.
Born December 8, 1961, in Jamaica, Queens to Larissa and Joseph H. Pond. He attended Tri-Valley Central High School and served in the United States Navy as a Torpedoman and was honorably discharged.
Peter was a master welder. He worked at electric boat on numerous projects, one of them being the Seawolf series of subs. Peter currently works at Hillandale Farms as the Fleet Manager. He loved going to Cape Cod and fishing with all his friends and deer hunting in the Catskills. He also loved drag racing in Epping with his Ford Mustang. Peter was also famous for his peppers. Peter Pond's Pickled Peppers. Peter also had a great love for Farmall tractors and had quite a collection one of his favorite things was riding his "Gug Gug kids"around the yard.
Peter is survived by his son Peter J Pond ,and daughter Angelica (Michael) Benevides , his grandchildren, Adeline and Mason; his father Joseph; his sister, Jennifer; his brother's Gregory (Irene), and James (Christine), 12 nieces and nephews and three grand nephews and many cousins. He was preceeded in death by his mother Larissa, his sister, Linda, and a dear friend (Nanu) Louise Molodich.
Calling Hours will be Sunday, September 21st, 2025 from 3pm-6pm at the Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd.,
Plainfield, CT. and again on Monday, September 22nd from 9am-10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 at All Hallows Church in
Moosup, CT. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at All Hallows Cemetery,
Moosup, CT.
In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute or
Saint Jude Children's Hospital in Peters memory.'
