I am so sorry to hear of Peter's passing. We worked together at the Koger Center here in Richmond for several years. He was such a fine man and I looked up to him. I only found out about this because I have to go to Louisa today and tried to look up his address for a surprise visit. I am so saddened. I trust Barbara and the boys are doing well.

I met Peter years ago at a VTC train meet and he was always gracious, generous with his time and knowledge. A true gentleman, I always enjoyed talking to him, buying and selling trains with each other. I just heard and was shocked by the news. If there is anything I can do please let me know.

Peter and I were neighbors in San Mateo, CA. He was bright, focused and determined. He also got me up on a horse when he was teaching riding in Golden Gate Park. He knew I was a 'greenhorn', but he encourage me and I got up and did pretty well... until, that is, I gave the horse a little kick and that horse took off like the wind! Did I mention that I rode at a gallop for about 20 yards, and then took a tumble. "Too much horse for me!" I reported to Peter... "Yeah," Peter said. "We usually reserve that horse for our old lady learners." I thought I was a pretty touch "buck" at 28 years old-- yes, I was "bucked", but I surely in the wrong sense. Thank you, Peter, for giving me the ride of my life: I have never forgotten it, nor your wonderful, wry sense of humor! Fondly, Rog
