Peter C. Rathman, age 55, of Reamstown, passed away on January 4, 2026, at WellSpan York Hospital surrounded by family. Born on September 7, 1970, in Lancaster, he was a son of Donald & Mae (Nolt) Rathman, and the loving husband of Shannon (Haldeman) Rathman.
Peter graduated from Cocalico High School in 1990. He worked as a Meat Cutter for Shady Maple Farm Market and previously Martin’s Country Market where he was known for his commitment to quality and service. His work ethic was matched by his passion for life outside of work. An avid outdoorsman, Peter was a member of the Cocalico Sportsman’s Club. He found joy in hunting and fishing, often making the most of these activities wherever possible. His love for nature extended into his gardening pursuits, where he cultivated beauty in his surroundings. The mountains held a special place in his heart, and he created many cherished memories spent at the family cabin in Jameson City. Peter was a member of Mohler Church of the Brethren. His love for animals and the natural world reflected his kind and nurturing spirit, traits that endeared him to all who knew him. Peter touched many lives with his warmth, enthusiasm for nature, and dedication to his family. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and the love he shared with those around him.
Along with his wife and parents, Peter is survived by his daughter, Ashton Rathman; his brother, Daniel (Cherie) Rathman; and extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Monday, January 12th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc. and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, beginning at 10:00 AM at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre; 34 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown (Stevens), PA 17567. His final resting place will be at Middle Creek Cemetery in Lititz.
