Peter Sauls Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Branford Dawson Funeral Home Inc. - Temple on Jan. 24, 2026.
Peter Genero Sauls, affectionately known as "Op," was born to Ruth Linda and Frank Charles Sauls. He was the youngest of thirteen children.

He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Crestview Christian Church, Greater Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, and the Multi-Cultural New Covenant Cowboy Church, where he was a current member.

He graduated from Temple High School in 1984. In 1988, he started his journey with Monica (Kindred) Sauls. Ten years later, on July 24, 1998, they were joined in holy matrimony, and to their union four children were born.

He was a dedicated and hard worker, employed at the City of Temple – Sanitation for five years; Walmart for five years; Frito Lay for five years; Aaron's Furniture for seven years; and Moore Co, Inc. for eight years. He also worked security at Red Roof and Fox Trap for several years, along with a host of companies not mentioned. From major companies to washing cars, he was a jack of all trades.

He was the life of the party, the glue that made things stick. He loved his family more than words could express and showed them each and every moment they were together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Sauls; his sister, Dorothy; his brothers, Charles, Eddie Joe Sr., Tony, Preston, Roy Lee, and Jack; and his cousin/best friend, Eric Sauls.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Monica Sauls; his four children, Allycia Kindred (Terrance), Genero Sauls (Crystal), Monicia Sauls (Rudy), and Shakelle Sauls; his five grandchildren, Amarian Kindred, Andres "AJ" Castilleja, Rudy "Zay-Zay" Castilleja, Jalen "Jay-Bug" Castilleja, and Tamir Green; one great-grandchild, Kayson Kindred; his sisters, Delia Mae (Marion), Deloise, and Maxine; his brothers, Lenord and Micheal; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
