DeShun was born in West Helena, Arkansas on August 26, 1980. He was the loved son of Earl and Terry Patterson. He moved to Rogers, Texas in his early years where he attended Rogers High School. He loves sports and was a member of this high school football team. DeShun later moved to Temple, TX. He learned different trades and his profession was a forklift operator for a local company in Temple.
DeShun accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the Ministry of Prophet Heslep.
DeShun was affectionately known for his playful and humorous spirit. He had a great passion for writing his own music and for writing poems about life and his experiences. He loved listening to music, spending time with his family and friends, being a jokester, laughing and making others laugh.
DeShun was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Campbell, his uncle, Lee Foster, and a dear friend, Billy Eppinger, Jr.
Survivors are his father, Earl Patterson of Temple, TX; mother, Terry Patterson of Lubbock,TX; daughter, Sereniti Patterson; son DaMarrieon Patterson; daughter, D’Shawnti Patterson, Temple, TX; sister, Tonya Green, Houston, TX; a niece and nephew, Phoebe and Clay Green, both of Houston, TX; aunts, Corine Hardy (Temple, TX); Zita Turner Bett (Holland, TX); Rutha Campbell (Little Rock, AR); Berthella Gist (Marvel, AR); uncles Afronzo Brewer (Temple, TX); Johnny Albert (Texarkana, TX); cousins, Jacqueline Anderson (Temple, TX); Taurus Hardy (Temple, TX) and a host of relative and friends.
We cannot forget about the special women that were a part of DeShun’s life story, Ms. Carolina Sanders and Ms. Amanda Kelley. They helped to soften his edges, and each showed unconditional love.
