William Patterson Obituary
He was born on September 25, 1943, in Peoria to Roy and Lulu (Lefort) Patterson and married Diane Dixon on September 30, 1967, in Peoria.
Surviving is his wife Diane Patterson of Groveland; children, Christian Patterson (Linda Patterson) of Groveland, Danya (Jeff) Petty of Peoria, and Cara (Tim) Gentry of Groveland; grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, William, Mari, Shae, and Jackson; and great grandchildren, Carter, Oliver, and Lorelei.
Bill was preceded in death by two infant children, Maria and William, two siblings, Roger Patterson and Betty Stiers, and son-in-law, Shane Campbell.
He was a logistics and parts supervisor for Caterpillar Inc. retiring with nearly 40 years of service. Fishing, golfing, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events were favorite pastimes.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, with Deacon Michael Harris officiating.
Memorials may be made to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. The family will be forever grateful for the loving care and kindnesses shown to them by the OSF Palliative and Hospice caregivers.
