Peter J. Selvey

Peter J. Selvey, age 75, of Wonder Lake passed away peacefully September 24, 2025 with his family by his side. Dear brother to Steven (Lydia) Selvey, Pamela Jane (John) Anderson, Diane Przybyla, and the late Patricia Heller. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Selvey and was greeted in heaven by his beloved dog, Sandy. He was a great friend to many.

Peter was a highly skilled and respected auto body mechanic and eventually with his expertise went into corporate insurance adjusting. One of his greatest joys was spending time on the water, especially at Blarney Island in Antioch, IL, where he was a familiar face in the thrilling world of drag boat racing. Before retiring his boat, you could find him every Thursday night participating in the races. More than just a competitor, Peter was a champion - not only in victory, but in spirit. Peter led by example, inspiring others, and mentoring many with genuine love for the racing community. He will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial visitation will be held, Saturday October 4, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
