Peter M. Sledzinski

Peter M. Sledzinski, age 81, of Westmont, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, had passed away on January 18, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Marta Sledzinski. Loving father of Bon (Marilyn) Sledzinski. Cherished grandfather of Heather and Kenneth. Dearest brother of Andzej, Wacek and the late Teresa.

Peter was born in Poland in 1944, during the German occupation. Always having an aptitude for mechanics, he had a successful career in Mechanical Engineering, being awarded multiple patents. In college, he met Marta, the love of his life. They were married for over 40 years until Marta's passing in 2011. Peter's hobbies included mechanics and amateur photography. He was hard working, prioritized his family, exhibiting integrity and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 3:00 – 8:00 pm at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Avenue, Darien. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026. Prayers will begin at 9:15 am at the funeral home. Guests may begin arriving at the funeral home at 8:30 am. A procession to Holy Trinity Church, 111 S. Cass Avenue, Westmont, for a 10:00 am Mass will follow prayers. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery will follow Mass.
