Peter T Smith

Peter T Smith, 83, grew up in Plainville, CT and attended Northwestern University where he met his wife of 62 years, Jean Reinhart. Peter's career in international marketing took the couple and their two children to Tokyo and Paris, then northern California. In 1977, Peter supported Jean's calling to attend seminary and become ordained as an Episcopal priest. Peter and Jean retired to Brattleboro in 2007 where he participated in St. Michael's parish, volunteered with the Vermont Partnership for Fairness and Diversity, and enjoyed tennis, outdoor activities, and barbecuing for the family.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Reinhart Smith, daughter Lindsay Smith, son Davis Smith, son-in-law, Sean Kirk, daughter-in-law Kendra Lawrence, granddaughters Jacqueline and Eliza Smith Kirk and Emma and Sydney Lawrence Smith, and by his sisters Rachel DeAngelo, Eileen Litwin, Christine Saretsky and Barbara Kaczinski.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Peter's memory to Princeton Blairstown Center and Groundworks Collaborative.
