Peter M. Sulock

1951 - 2025

Peter M. Sulock, 74, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on July 14 at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief battle with Legionnaires' disease.

Born April 16, 1951, to Peter and Ethel M. Sulock, he attended Pittsfield Public Schools and played goalie for the PHS hockey team, helping the Generals win the Fay Championship his junior year. Peter served with pride in the U.S. Marine Corps as a military police officer and later worked at Channel 2 in Pittsfield, where he was known for his on-air persona, "Prancing Peter." He also returned to the ice as a Zamboni driver for the former Boys Club of Pittsfield-an organization he credited as a guiding light during a tumultuous childhood.

Peter built a decades-long career as a tractor-trailer driver, working for H.V. Rabouin Trucking, A&R Trucking, New Century, and U.S. Logistics before retiring in 2017. His friends remember him as a family man with a full heart, quick wit and knack for memorable story-telling.

He enjoyed billiards, cribbage, chess and DIY projects. After years on the road, he embraced the quiet joys of retirement-mowing the lawn with his granddaughter's matching tractor trailing behind, and spending evenings on the deck with his wife, savoring their stunning view of October Mountain. Above all, he cherished time with his family, including weekly visits with his youngest grandkids, family vacations to Disney World, the Outer Banks, and the Smoky Mountains, and a memorable Super Bowl trip with his son to watch his beloved Patriots.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy J. (Gannon) Sulock and children Peter T. Sulock (Missy) TX, Kimberly M. Balducci (Greg) NC, Amber M. Fosty (Eric) DE, and Ashley S. Persip (Earl) MA. He also leaves eight grandchildren-Brayden, Nicholas, Keagan, Sophia, Lilianna, Liam, Avery, and Isaac; sister Debra Nordby; brothers Thomas Sulock, Stephen Sulock, and Edward Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, daughter Kristie "Rhianna" Sulock, infant son Michael Sulock, and brother Richard Greenwood.

Calling hours will be Saturday, August 2, from 10-11 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires.
