Mr. Peter Taybron

Mr. Peter Jasper "P.J." Taybron, affectionately known to some as "Pepper", transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, January 1, 2023. "PJ" was born in Rena Lara, Mississippi to Mary Francis (McGhee) and Furnie Taybron on August 9, 1936, the youngest of four children.
Peter migrated north with his family to Saginaw, Michigan in 1966, where he was employed by General Motors Malleable Iron Plant until his retirement in 1992. He was a faithful and proud member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Marvin T. Smith.
Pete loved his cars, travelling, and sports – especially baseball games at Hoyt Park. He lived his life to the fullest, knew how to have fun, and was a joy to be around. "P.J." had a sense of humor that was unmatched and a laugh that was sure to make everyone else laugh – even if they didn't get the joke. He was a very wise, disciplined man with a kind heart who was always willing to help. His baby girl, Kem, always referred to him as her counselor, confidant, teacher, mechanic, financial advisor, favorite comedian her everything.
Peter leaves to cherish the good times, five children, Luther Taybron, Defiance, OH, Johnny Taybron and Kemberly Taybron-Parham both of Saginaw, MI, Ann (James) Henderson, Detroit, MI, and Diane (Barakat) Saleem, Covina, CA; bonus son, Tiervares Parham; eleven grandchildren, Tanesha, Erica, Johnny Jr., and Anjelica Taybron, Tiervares, Jr., Tierra, Tionna and Trevon Parham, James Henderson, Jr., Isaiah Landry and Jeremiah Saleem; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pete will also be dearly missed by special friend, Margaret Brown and special cousins, Doris Thompson and Tina Brown.
"P.J." was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Francis and Furnie Taybron; one grandson, LaVelle Brown; sisters, Mary Louise Phelon and D'Ella Taybron; daughter-in-law, Linda D. Taybron; a host of other family and friends.
Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church, 1114 N. 6th St., Saginaw, Michigan 48601 with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Dr. Marvin T. Smith officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington, Saginaw, MI 48601. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until time of service.
