Peter Vigil, known to his family as "Junior", was born on October 4, 1955, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He passed away of natural causes on February 12, 2024, after a very sudden decline in health. He was 68 years old.
Peter was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Antonio Vigil (1990), his mother, Theresa Tapia Vigil (2005); his sisters, Diana Vigil Morgan (2009), Gloria Vigil Kotschwar (2019), and Evelyn Vigil Olguin (2019); niece Tracey Kotschwar (1997) and nephew James McDaniel, Jr. (2011).
He is survived by his sisters Deborah Vigil Kieltyka (Joseph) and Angela Vigil Garcia (Phillip); brothers-in-law Richard Morgan and Ronald Kotschwar; nephews Matthew Kieltyka and Ryan Garcia; nieces Krystl Kotschwar Burleigh (Brian), Brianne Kotschwar, Robyn Olguin Vossen, Sarah Kieltyka Dominguez (Nathan), Rachel Kieltyka, and Abigail Garcia, and several great nephews and great nieces.
Peter enjoyed the music of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, was a fan of UNM Lobos Football, the Las Vegas Raiders and, of course, the New York Yankees. He was a private person who lived his life caring for aging and mentally disabled persons by providing a home for them at Georgia House Group Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m., followed by inurnment.
