Peterette Cunningham Obituary
Peterette Roberta Cunningham, who loved to introduce herself as Scarlet, 68, of Altamonte Springs, Fl, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at home. Peterette was born in the greater Chicago area to the late Peter and Elizabeth (Dorval) Cunningham and grew up with four siblings. She married and had one child (Adama). She was driven to complete her education and was the first in her family to graduate college and received a degree in nursing. Peterette became a Registered Nurse with over 42 years of experience, which took her across the United States. She loved her job and through that made many lifelong friends, both with her peers and those she worked to help.
Peterette was very crafty and enjoyed making custom gift baskets for friends and co-workers. She loved sending cards with wonderful handwritten notes. Her favorite hobby was quilling, and she created the most beautiful flower designs with it. Often, they would mirror the flowers she grew in her own garden which she turned into amazing bouquets. She loved the outdoors, visiting local parks and trails regularly to walk. She was very much into fashion and interior design, taking great pride in the way she presented herself and her home. She was a social butterfly and loved entertaining her company. Visitors were always welcome at her door. She was addicted to cooking shows. Always taking pleasure in making some of the dishes she saw. She took incredible pride in her job as a Registered Nurse. Often talking about the patients, she helped over the years and the lifelong friends they became.
Peterette is survived by her son, Adama Otterbourg and his wife Kay Dee; grandchildren, Catherine Otterbourg, Travis Curry, Todd Curry, and Amber Mundel; brothers, Russ Cunningham and Robert Cunningham. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jode Lange and Renee Driver.
A private service will be held for her family. Visit www.DeMoneyGrimes.com to send Peterette's family online condolences or sign the online guest book.
