Petrecia Marie Vuncannon

Petrecia "Marie" Vuncannon, 87, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence. Marie was born on January 28, 1939, in Booneville, MS, to William Marshall Cain and Gracie Elizabeth Downs.

Marie traveled to all 50 states during her lifetime. She traveled to several countries and visited the beauty of most National Parks. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and listening to an array of music. She was a devoted entrepreneur who poured her heart into the businesses she built, working across medical, upholstery, and food service with dedication and pride.

She is survived by her son, Keith Vuncannon of Iuka, MS; brother, Sonny Cain of Iuka, MS; sisters-in-law, Linda Chaffin, Lynn Vuncannon, Reeder Vuncannon, Alma Vuncannon, Sara Sanders and Shirley Cain; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Larry Vuncannon; and her parents.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of the funeral home. Bro. Jeff Jones will be officiating. Burial will be in the Cain's Chapel Cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Thacker, Brett Thacker, Storm Chaffin, Hunter Cain, Noah Harris, Josh Kemp, Grant Gillespie and Brayden Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Jones, Dirley Jones, Jeremy Petty, Doug Jones, Jeff Jones, Donald Jones and Terry Stephens.

Due to a family member's allergy, no live florals please. In lieu of florals, the family request donations to be made, in her memory, to St. Jude’s, Shriners Hospital, or Tristate Cross for Christ.
