Mr. Phil "Larry" Hartman, age 77, of Leon, Oklahoma, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on August 4, 1948, to the late Mr. Charlie "Cat" D. Hartman and Mrs. Carrie L. (Tom) Hartman.
Larry spent his entire life in Leon, where he developed strong ties to his community. On April 22, 1994, he married Teresa Tamez in Gainesville, Texas. A dedicated worker, Larry made his mark in various fields including the oil industry, pipeline work, ranching, and notably, auto mechanics, a profession he cherished and excelled in throughout his life.
Family was central to Larry's life; he treasured moments with his grandchildren and relished spending time with loved ones. His hobbies included squirrel and coyote hunting, camping, and fishing, activities that reflected his deep appreciation for nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Lula Taylor, Charles "Sonny" Hartman, Mary "Cicero" Haymes, Wilma Sparks, Johnny Hartman, and Roy Hartman. Additionally, Larry mourned the loss of his granddaughters, Tabitha Hartman and Brooklynn Brown.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Hartman; his children, Larry Hartman, Jr. (Rhonda), Gary Hartman (Cherri), Melissa Nielsen (Justin), and Steven Brown (Ariel); as well as 15 grandchildren: J.D. (Katy) Hartman, Cody Hartman, Stormie Hartman-Graham, Mariah (Josh) Demory, Triston Brown, Matthew Brown, Trevor (Matthew) Geisler, Travis Waller, Clinton Stephens, Gracie Stephens, Ashleigh Farmer, Haley Sutherland, Kaitlyn Brown, Cole Brown, and KJ Brown. He also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren: Cadence, Harper, Cohen, Abigail, Adrian, Hunter, Kamo, Aspen, Hensley, Nickolas, Skye, Trenton, Easton, Legend, Legacy, and another on the way. He is further survived by his sister, Vera Mae (Hartman) Leibrock, and a large circle of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, Oklahoma, with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. A visitation will take place Monday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hartman, Gary Hartman, J.D. Hartman, Cody Hartman, Trevor Geisler, and Josh Demory.
