Phil Randy McWhorter, 73, of Cumming, GA passed away March 26, 2023. Phil was born, raised, and lived in Cumming, GA his entire life. Mr. McWhorter retired from the Forsyth County School System in the maintenance facilities department. Phil never met a stranger and was a Christian family man. Phil was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and a member of the Philabusters Bowling Team. Mr. McWhorter loved to bowl and even bowled a perfect game.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshal Edwin McWhorter.
Phil is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Pruitt McWhorter; mother, Irene McWhorter; children and their spouses, Mary Ann Darnell, Shawn & Raymond Swofford, Paula Disharoon & Brice Foster; grandchildren, Kayla & Emanuel Garcia, Carrie McPherson and her fiancé Luke Gravitt, Cassie & David Taylor, Reese Disharoon; great grandchildren, Bentley Taylor, Leia Garcia; sister and brother in-law, Wanda & Rupert Harris; brother and sister in-law, Scott & Cynthia McWhorter; several brothers in-law, sisters in-law, cousins nieces, nephews and extended family and friends .
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Richie Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 9:00 am until service time at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040
