     Philip Endicott Stocke, 80, of Carmi, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. He was born November 27, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Dr. A.E. and Beth (Endicott) Stocke. Phil graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1963, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He attended Murray State University after graduation. He married Maryann Botsch on June 22, 1985 at the First United Methodist Church in Carmi, June 22 would have marked their 40th anniversary.

     Phil sold cars at Rice Motor Company for 40 years. Phil was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi where he joined on March 25, 1956. He was very active in both church and community activities over the years. He was Chairman of the White County Red Cross Blood Drive for several years, a member of the Carmi Kiwanis Club, Carmi Country Club, and a Member of the Carmi Elks Club since January 20, 1966. During his association with the Elks, Phil assisted with the Crippled Children Foundation. He was also a member of the United States Golf Association and Carmi Chamber of Commerce where he was a former Director and named Carmi Citizen of the Year in 1995. Phil was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs.

     Phil loved his family. He is survived by his wife Maryann Stocke, Sister-in-Law Becky Stocke, Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law Steve and Marsha Land, Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law Keith and Vicky Botsch. He is also survived by nieces, Sarah Beth Myers (Scott), Vanessa Estes (Rob), Lindsay Botsch (Skip), Katie Botsch and Madison Botsch; nephews Rob Stocke (Christy), Christopher Land, and Ryan Botsch (Allison and Lola); great nieces and nephews Hank and Noah Stocke, Ethan Myers (Grace and Milo), Isabel Myers, Alexandria, Autumn, and Jordana Estes; as well as numerous cousins.

     Phil is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. A.E. and Beth Stocke; his brother, Judge Robert Stocke; his grandparents, August and Lucy Stocke and David Fred and Mary (Mildred Rudolph) Endicott; and his beloved dogs, Heinie I and Heinie II, Wrigley Field, and Bella Grace.

      Funeral services for Philip Stocke, 80, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Carmi, Illinois with burial in Maple Ridge Cemetery with Reverend Mike Buckman and Pastor Tim Cook officiating. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church, and on Friday, May 2, 2025 after 10:00 am until service time at the church.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Phil's memory may be made to White County Cheer for a Cure and Linda White Hospice House of Evansville, Indiana, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
