PHILIP BENNETT Obituary

BENNETT, Philip Gary Age 73, passed away peacefully in N. Charleston, SC, on March 5, 2024. Philip is survived by his wonderful wife of 47 years Kathleen (Hurney) Bennett; his sons, Kevin and wife, Kristy of Kingston, MA; Stephen and wife, Brianne of Charleston, SC and Christopher of S. Weymouth, MA. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; Anna, Jocelyn, Nathan, Jameson and Donovan, five siblings; Louise, Jack and wife, Phyllis, Patricia and husband, Bob, Deborah and husband, Terry and Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and mother, John and Louise (Alward) Bennett; and his two brothers, James and Thomas. Philip was a graduate of Boston State College, a proud veteran of the Army and a retired Federal Customs Agent. He will be remembered for his love of family, sports, trivia, a good joke and walks along Nantasket Beach. Phil also enjoyed taking family vacations to Disney, Cape Cod and New Hampshire. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date this summer.

Phil was always ready with a joke and a smile. I worked in his group at the NDT school in Watertown. He was a good guy we never will forget. Rest in peace Phil. And thanks for the smiles.
