Philip Thomas Loeper

Philip (Phil) Thomas Loeper, 83, beloved Father, Spouse, and Son, was called to his eternal resting place on December 27, 2022. He entered this world on April 28, 1939, in Reading, PA, born to Philip W. Loeper and Margaret M. Loeper. He is survived by his spouse Helen Loeper; son Philip W. Loeper; daughter Dina M. Melo; their mother Dilia Loeper; granddaughter Lauren Melo; grandson Christian Melo; brother Thomas Loeper. Phil studied Engineering at Penn State and was recruited to New Mexico by Sandia Labs in the 1960's. He worked at Sandia Labs for a few years and went on to open Loeper Landscaping, one of the most successful landscape companies in Albuquerque for over 40 years. He was a licensed Landscape Architect and spent many years making Albuquerque and other areas of New Mexico beautiful, with his unique designs. Phil loved golfing, watching football and spending time with his family and friends. He was extremely proud of his son, daughter, and grandchildren, and would light up when he would speak of them. Most weekends, you could find Phil on the golf course with his wife Helen and friends. Phil was an avid golfer and enjoyed the challenge of a good game. His favorite season was football season, and it was definitely his favorite time of the year. Being from Pennsylvania and a Penn State Alumni, he was a loyal fan of the Nittany Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. Phil will be remembered for his magnetic personality, as he maintained many lifelong friendships in Albuquerque. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, 1:00 pm. at FRENCH-Wyoming. A Celebration of Life reception will follow the service at Tanoan Country Club 10801 Academy Rd.
