Philip Ogan Obituary

Philip "Phil" Lee Ogan
Born: April 6, 1938 in Dixon, IL
Died: November 29, 2025 in Oregon, IL
Philip "Phil" Lee Ogan, 87, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Serenity Hospice & Home, in Oregon, IL. He proudly worked as Assistant Controller for Raynor Garage Door in Dixon, for 20 years, serving as Controller for the last 2 of his time there.
Phil was born on April 6, 1938, in Dixon, the son of Gail and Elizabeth (Martin) Ogan. He married Pamala "Pam" Wolf on November 13, 1982, in Dixon. He was an active member of Bethel EC Church in Dixon, and loved the fellowship and relationships it provided him with. Phil took great pride in all he did, whether it be work, hobbies, or relationships - if he did it, he did it to the best of his ability. A modern day "MacGyver", there was close to nothing Phil couldn't fix. He loved his job and was as hard a worker as one could be. His love for numbers was evident in most everything he did. There was not a numbers problem he couldn't solve - the messier the better! Even after retirement, he continued that strong work ethic and served as a Compliance Officer for Lee County. If you knew Phil, you knew he was an avid fisherman. No matter where he was going, he always made sure to have a spare pole in the car...you never knew when the perfect fishing opportunity would arise! Above all these things, Phil was a good man. He loved his family and grandchildren beyond words and his memory will live on in all those lucky enough to have known him.
Phil is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pam Ogan of Dixon; six children, Diane (Jim) Noren of CO, Janet (Jimmy) Butler of Dixon, Steve Ogan of Rockford, Sue (Michael) Schultz of WI, Kim (Greg) Vaessen of Sublette, IL, Jason (Sunshine) Golson of CA; two brothers, Donald Ogan, Bob Ogan; sister, Patricia Fluck of Davis; sister-in-law, Betty Ogan; thirteen grandchildren, Steven, Jamie, Nick, Amy, Kourtney, Sierra, Abigail, Dalton, Jacob, Kaydence, Harmony, Samantha, Mikayla; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gail Ogan, Jr., Bill Ogan; sister, Frances Wright; brother-in-law, Dick Fluck; and two sisters-in-law, Jan Ogan, Veda Ogan.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:30 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Bethel EC Church in Dixon, with Pastor Ron West and Pastor Nathan Kennedy, co-officiating. There will be a Luncheon following services at the church. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, IL.
