Philip Panning Obituary
Philip Carl Panning, 69, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and Man of Faith
Phil Panning, aged 69, passed away peacefully on August 12th, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband to Cathy and a cherished father, Phil found his greatest joy in spending time with his family.
Born on July 27th, 1955, Phil lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to both his family and his faith. His unwavering faith was a source of strength throughout his life, guiding him through challenges and inspiring those around him. Phil's passion for golf was matched only by his commitment to his faith, which was a cornerstone of his life. In addition to his passion for golf, Phil was an adventurer, finding pleasure in traveling and exploring with Cathy. While at home, he could be found enjoying a Star Wars movie or an old Western.
In addition to his treasured siblings and extended family, Phil is survived by his loving wife Cathy, his sons Micah (Debi) and Jeff (Jordan), and his grandchildren (Jackson, Ryan, Evie, Elliot and Sam), who will forever remember the joy, wisdom and warm hugs he brought into their lives.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Phil's memory on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance, OH. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church preceding the service.
Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
Phil's spirit and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Phil's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
