Philip H. Ryan of
Warwick, NY, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on January 12, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He died at 81 years of age, after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Philip was born in Brooklyn on February 7, 1944. He was the oldest son of William and Lillian (née Ferruggiaro) Ryan.
Philip proudly served in the U.S. Navy, and loved telling his children and grandchildren about his time spent on the U.S.S. Kearsarge. After serving in the Navy, Philip became a member of Local Union No. 3 IBEW. He loved working as the general foreman of installations for financial services down on Wall Street. After his retirement, Philip enjoyed doing taxes for H&R Block in
Warwick, NY.
He was married to his beautiful wife, Donna (née Kelley) for 56 years. While they started their marriage in the Bronx, they eventually moved up to Warwick where they raised their four children. Philip was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed sharing his mother's recipes. Some of his fondest memories included making homemade raviolis and tulta for Christmas. Philip's greatest joys were his seven grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, attending concerts, little league or soccer games, theater performances, and cross country meets. Above all else, Philip was a devoted father and companion to his beloved son, Philip Michael.
Philip is survived by his loving wife Donna; sons Christopher Ryan and his wife Ellen and Philip Michael Ryan; daughters Laura Stough and her husband Jason and Lisa Ryan; adored grandchildren: Devon, Liam, Declan, and Quinn Ryan; Grace, Claire, and Sebastian Stough; sister Monica "Cookie" Ryan-Schatz; and several other loving family members. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Ryan just one week prior.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses and personal care aides at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dr. Dermigny, and Dr. Ramos for their loving care towards their father. We are especially grateful for the compassionate at-home care provided by Jusline, Shedna, and Viviane.
