Philip ‘Pudgy’ Tony, 74, of 2nd Street, died Monday, June 2, 2025, at his residence in West Pittsburg. He was born in New Castle, on August 31, 1950, the son of the late Jamile and Najla (Massrah) Tony. Pudgy married Carol Ann (Cherozzi) Tony on January 1, 1973, she survives in New Castle. Mr. Tony worked at YDC as a counselor for 15 years, and then was the owner and operator of Pudgy’s Buns for 10 years. He loved to play golf, play cards, cook, and listen to music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Kylea Tony Powers and her husband Tim of New Castle, and Dylan Tony and his wife Heather of Pittsburgh, four grandchildren, Dominick and Cassidy Tony, and McKenzie and Riley Powers, and three brothers, Michael Tony and his wife Ginny, Thomas Tony and his wife Marylin, and Richard Tony and his wife Heidi.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 4:00 PM, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel.
