Phillip Mitchell (Mitch) Addington passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025 at Carolinas Foothills Hospice House in Forest City, North Carolina following a long battle with cancer.

Mitch was the beloved son of Charles Phillip Addington and Betty Sue Graham Addington. He leaves behind siblings: Chuck Addington of Liberty, SC; Liz Sidener (Scott) of Lockhart, SC; and Chris Addington (Paula) of Dacusville, SC. Daughters- Elizabeth Addington (Robert) of Los Angeles, CA, and Caroline Addington of Charlottesville, Virginia. Nephews- Corey Addington (Andrea), Daniel Dixon (Kelsey), and Jacob Addington (Kayla). Niece -Alison Dixon (Casey).

Mitch was predeceased by his father, Charles Phillip Addington.

Mitch earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Clemson University. His early career focused on sales at Hewlett-Packard. His later career focused on real estate and land development, where he was able to deploy his love of tractors and heavy equipment.

Mitch was an avid outdoorsman, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with B.S.A. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.

Mitch loved his church, St. James Episcopal, where he grew closer to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A memorial service with Holy Eucharist will be held at a later date, with The Rev. Kellan Day presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. James Episcopal Church, 301 Piney Mountain Road, Greenville, SC 29609.

Mitch's life was a journey filled with adventure. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
