Phillip Birckbichler Obituary

Phillip Birckbichler, 76, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025.
Phil was born Sept. 10, 1948, in Butler to Wendel "Chip" and Betty (Cobb) Birckbichler.
After serving in the Army for six years. Phil married Barbara Eyth on June 5, 1971, and started their family. Phil's career with Servi-Star ultimately took them and their four boys to Charleston, Ill., where they enjoyed living in the country, raising animals and helping others farm. Phil and Barb returned to Butler to be closer to their families where they have been for the past 30 years.
Phil's hobbies over the years included racing pigeons, coaching baseball, square dancing, raising canaries, umpiring softball and woodworking; but his biggest passion was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Eyth) Birckbichler of Butler; and four sons, Daniel Birckbichler and his wife, Reita, of Clayton, N.C., Gregory Birckbichler and his wife, Stephanie, of Mahomet, Ill., Scott Birckbichler and his wife, Olivia, of Sanger, Texas, and David Birckbichler and his wife, Christine, of Butler.
Phil was a proud grandpa to seven grandchildren, Madeline (Tyler) Brandenburg, Adam (Casey) Birckbichler, Hunter Birckbichler, Maylani Birckbichler, Mackenzie Birckbichler, Mallory Birckbichler and Brady Birckbichler.
His siblings also survive, Joseph (Patricia) Birckbichler, of Butler, Jeffrey (Patricia) Birckbichler, of Butler, and Barbara (James) Ippolito, of Charleston, IL; and his sisters-in-law, Donna (Zimmell) Birckbichler, of Chicora, and Bobbi Birckbichler, of Collegeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendel "Chip" and Betty (Cobb) Birckbichler; and brothers, Michael Birckbichler and Stephen Birckbichler
