Phillip Browning Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stevens Funeral Home on Feb. 13, 2026.
Phillip Edward "Phil" Browning, age 49, passed away February 7th, 2026. Born on September 24, 1976, Phil was the son of Judy Jumper Hill and the late James Edward Browning. After the passing of his father, Judy's husband, Clint Hill, lovingly stepped in and became an important father figure in Phil's life. Clint has also preceded him in death.

Phil was a gentle soul with a kind heart and an easy, free-spirited nature. Many described him as being a bit of a hippie, someone who appreciated the simple, meaningful things in life. He had a special love for animals and a deep appreciation for nature. He enjoyed gardening, valued organic living, and loved discovering arrowheads and other unique treasures. Phil was creative and thoughtful, spending time drawing or crafting things from wood with his hands.

Phil is survived by his beloved children, Emma Lawyer, Mary Lawyer, and Jacob Paddock; his mother, Judy Jumper Hill; his sisters, Jamie Renee Browning and Melissa Gail McGough; his nieces, Brianna Lee (husband John Lee), McKenzie McGough (fiancé Cody Applewhite) and Lauren Smith; and his nephew, Caleb Cook. He is also survived by his uncles, Homer Browning (wife Paula), Kenny Jumper (wife Renee), Jerry Jumper, and Betty, and one aunt, Norma Busby.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Browning; his stepfather, Clint Hill; his maternal grandparents, Christine and Homer Jumper; and his paternal grandparents, Della Mae and Cloys Browning.

Phil will be remembered for his warmth, his love of nature, and the gentle way he moved through the world. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Saturday, with burial in Bell Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 1:00 P.M., until the time of the service. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the online registry.
