I stopped here to pay respect to your son. I was able to carry Phillip´s picture in the Dallas Veterans Parade today as a part of the Platoon of the Fallen. Words cannot express how much an honor that was. May God richly your family and know that Phillip was remembered today.

Wow! It's been over 16 years since you left us to be with our Heavenly Father! Phillip, I think of you often! That might be considered strange since I only met you a couple of times. But I have an image of you "BURNED" deeply in my mind of the time you came home on leave, to Houston. I was at home alone when I heard a strong knock on the front door. I opened the door to see a "handsome" young Marine standing there so proud & confident! You said, "Good Afternoon, Mr. Hutchinson. I'm Phillip, a friend of Kristyn".(my daughter). "Is she home, Sir?" After explaining to you she was not in, I asked if you would like to come in my home anyway & you promptly said "I would love to!" In the next few minutes, we were able to share some of our hearts that day. I can now say that I feel "special" that you chose to take some of your valuable time off to do that with me. Also, you got to tell me how much you "liked & respected" my daughter! You won me over totally in a heart beat! I Thank you for that moment, Phillip! I don't know why you "touched me so" that day, but I know that we can continue our conversation later on when I come Home! Love always!"

It's been too long since I've posted something on here. I still feel very lost without having you to talk to, you were always good at shining light on my proposed stupidity. I miss our chats, and the thoughts of what the future might hold. With 8 years of perspective now it hurts just as bad as it used to, just not as frequently, I miss you man. and I carry you with me everywhere I go.

Carson,

It has been over 4 years since I met you at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
I was the Loadmaster on the C-5 in charge of bringing your son from Ramstein AB to Dover AFB. I
hope we made your grief stricken experience a little more bareable.
I think of and pray for you and your family often on your loss and hope that the pain will ease with time.

Penny and Carson,
I am so sorry for only learning of this, and quite by accident I might add. While the pain is deep and the loss will always be felt, from reading all the comments posted, I know that you are proud of the life he led. He is a remarkable son. May I add my sincere thanks for his unselfish sacrifice and duty to his country and the freedoms we hold dear.

Hey George its Sarge, its been awhile since i last wrote something on here. I can't believe its already been 4yrs. It seems longer. I moved out of Texas to California, I know you would be upset but we had to move out for awhile to figure things out. My son Phillip is going up fast and he reminds me of you, fearless. Well I guess that is all for now, so until next time. Sgt Sarmienta

Four years ago, my husband lost the greatest friend he has ever had. Nick has struggled greatly with the loss of Phillip, but takes much comfort in knowing that Phillip was a true man of God! His sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his name will live on! It is so amazing to look at our son (Carson Phillip) and see so many traits similar to Phillip's! That is our greatest comfort of all! Love, Beth

Phillip, you are the very reason why we live in a free country. Your sacrifice will never go unnoticed nor forgotten. You are our hero and we miss you more than words could possibly even say. Penny, Carson, Sarah, Aaron - you are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Even though your hearts are full of sorrow, we know how proud you must be of this precious child of God. In Memory of Phillip ~ (Debra Estep)

August 18, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Phillip, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Phillip, I never got the honor to meet you but I have heard how great of a man you were. Not a day goes by that Chase does not think of you. It is still hard for him to talk about you and I hope that it gets easier for him with time. He got mad at yall's jeep by the way. It was overheating as usual and he got mad and threw the coolant resivour in the woods. I know that you are watching over him every day so you know where he is right now and what he is going through. Please go to him and help him through this for I am not able to. Look over little Autymn and watch her grow up because you know he would want you in her life. Joyce and Barry sing nothing but your praises. I hope to get to know you better through stories about you but know that I will never fully comprehend your magnificence that I hear so much about until I meet you in the afterlife. Know that you will never be forgotten. Happy Birthday!!

Hey Phillip. I just wanted you to know how much your missed. Your nephew is getting so big. I wish more than anything you could be here to watch him grow. I know you are looking out for him from heaven. What better guardian angel to have than a Marine. We love you and miss you everyday.

Hey,
I can't believe it's been two years already. I spend the entire year dreading this day, but I will never be able to forget it either. I miss you more and more every day. It hurts that you weren't able to greet your new nephew. Don't worry I'll make sure he knows who his uncle was and what he did for us. I'll also be sure to tell him all the crazy stunts you pulled and every embarassing moment because those are the memories I cling to the most. I wish so bad that you were here to see him grow. He has our long fingers and monkey toes. From the looks of it he's gonna be taller than both of us. We made his middle name Phillip. I miss you so much man. I hang on to all the mundane memories of us playing when we were growing up because I know there won't be any new ones. But I treasure the times we had and will never forget them. I told you before you left, but I wish I'd told you more that I love you. I miss you and will carry your memory with me as long as I live. I know you're watching over us now. We'll do the best we can to honor you. We'll see you later.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

It can not be inherited

Just wanted to encourge the George family to PRESS ON! My brother and the 2/3 are in IRAQ right now, and my prayer is that they do not fight in vain, nor forget those that fought beside them. It takes great courage for those boys to do what they did, and to dedicate their lives like that. Jake's words before getting on the plane back to HI this last time were..." I love you sis, but if it's my time to go, i'm going...i want my nephew and my family to be able to live in peace in a safe and free country and know that i had something to do with it." That hits deep, but to those of you who know how deep a brothers love can run...it meant the world to me. I know that the 2/3 misses Phillip. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family, as your family continues to lift the 2/3 up in prayer. SEMPER FI!!

We purchased a flag that was displayed at a community "healing field" from Sept 8th to the 12th. Each flag represented a military member lost in the war in Iraq or Afghanistan. On the flag we purchased was the name LANCE CORPORAL PHILLIP C. GEORGE. We want Phillip's family to know you will remain in our prayers each day we fly this flag. Our hearts ache for the enormous sacrifice you and your beloved son have made for this country. May God provide you and your family the comfort and strength you need.

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Phillip C. George:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young man who gave his life so selflessly. We lost our son 12/1/05.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. They will never be forgotten, never able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your memories will sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away. God Bless this courageous soldier and his family.

Psalm 23

1

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!

My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!

I just want to send all my prayers to Phillip's family, and share a story I have about Phillip. George is how I knew him best. He was a marine that embarked my ship in 2004. He traveled to Thiland and Sigapore with us. I always thought he hated me. He never smiled or said to much . But I rememeber one day I was standing in a hall way on board my ship he called out my name gave me this biggest smile I ever seen. Thats when I knew he didn't hate me. He was a great guy.

I pray for his family and all the wonderful marines he served may they all return home.

It is with a respectful and thankful heart WE give our thanks to your son, a brother, and I believe a friend to many, for serving our country. A young boy who became a man, served and died for his country. No greater love could one give. Your son, Lance Cpl. Phillip will not be forgotten. As our son, Cpl. Michael Aaron shared with us the beautiful ceremony he was able to attend in your sons honor, I have gained such a respect for the "brotherhood" and all areas of the military, but am especially proud to be a mother of one of the finest! Phillip will be missed, but never forgotten. With a prayer and thankful heart......May God give the peace to hold on to life as we hold Phillip dear to our hearts!

Sincerely, Charlotte Aaron

My brother LCPL COOK, Jacob, Served with LCPL George. They were stationed at KHB in HI together. I never will forget the phone call home that we got after their mission, and hearing his voice as he told of events that happened. I cried that night and prayed for those boys. LCPL George was a true hero, and I'm sure God welcomed him home with open arms. SEMPER FI!!

Even though we have never met, I wanted to share a poem with you.
You see I lost my only son when he was one month away from his 22nd birthday. That was in 1980. I know the pain and the sorrow that you feel.
I know in time the awful hurting inside of you will heal. I know right now it’s hard to Imagine that life can even go on. I can’t imagine anything worse then losing a child.

I am a Christian and I know that God’s strength saw me and my husband through. There were many days we just didn’t want to go on, but He was always there to help us.

I hope you will not take offence by receiving this. I only mean it to help and
let you know that I care. I will keep you in my prayers.

May God bless you in a very special way, as He took a very special person from this world to be with Him. I thank God every day for men like your son who are willing to fight for our freedom and the freedom of oppressed nations. I know Phillip has made a difference in every life he has touched. God bless everyone in his family.

Remember, John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should nor perish but have everlasting life.”

At Death of a Child
“I’ll lend you for a little while
A child of mine,” He said.
“For you to love the while he lives
And mourn when he is dead.
It may be six or seven years, or
Twenty two or three,
But will you ’til I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you,
And should his days be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked this wide world over
In my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lane,
I have selected you.
Now will you give all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take him back again?”

I fancy that I heard them say,
“Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy this child shall bring,
The risk of grief we’ll run;
We’ll shelter him with tenderness,
We’ll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner then we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes
And try to understand.”

FOR PHILLIP:

Today, September, 17, 2005, one day shy of the one month anniversary that Phillip has been walking the streets of Gold, at about 6 pm, "Heroes" was officially born . My project is complete and it sounds OUTSTANDING! A special THANK YOU to Dennis Rehders for his hard work and persistence. To both Dennis and Alice Rehders for opening up their home to us for the weekend so that this project would be possible. I know we made our God proud today as we made this CD. I also know that Phillip has heard it and that his memory and what he did for us has been honored. For each CD that is dispersed, I hope that through Phillip's memory that the world will become more knowledgeable and thankful for what he went through so that we can have our freedom. Also, as promised.......

This project is dedicated to my inspiration of this it.

In Memory of my fallen friend and Brother in Christ,

LCPL PHILLIP CARSON GEORGE

I don't even know where to start. First, I want to give my condolences to Penny, Carson, Aaron, and Sara. I had the privilege to know your son since we were 9. It wasn't until a few years ago that I really began to become really good friends with him. It saddens me to think I will never get to hear him call me "Daria" again. But I am joyed to know that I will see Phillip and Jason once again in heaven. I want to give my condolences to the "three beans" also and I want to let you guys know that he was a hero!I will miss all of the times that I spent with Such a great Man.I just ask everyone to please remember Phillip as a strong and kind Man. I will miss you always!!

Heros answer a higher calling for they are the elect of God. They serve others rather than self - they love deeply and stand tall and proud. If we are truly lucky our lives will be affected by such a person. I am blessed because I got to call him friend - we were as close as brothers. Mourn Phillip because we have suffered a great loss. Heros deserve remembering. Phillip protected all of our lives and dreams - fulfill them and bring justice and glory to his legacy. Until I meet my friend again, I take solace in knowing he has the honor of protecting the streets of Heaven.
