Phillip Scott Cain, aged 66, passed away surrounded by family on May 20, 2025, at his home in Plano, Texas. He was born on April 1959 in Wurzburg, Germany to Lindell "Dick", and Waltraud "Trudy" Cain, and was a proud Texan and graduate of both Eastwood High School and University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).

Phil married Denise Fierro on December 31, 1985, in El Paso, Texas, and later moved to Plano, Texas to work as a programmer and cost center manager at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Perot Systems. He displayed natural proficiency in problem solving and data systems solutions as well as a tireless work ethic.

At the age of 35, Phil was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease. He retired at the age of 45 due to his disability, but he never lost his purpose in life or his hope for a cure. A humble man, Phil was a loving father and husband who enjoyed spending most of his time with his family and friends. His favorite way to spend his time was watching movies at home with Denise and his companion dog, Frankie, on his lap. He was always known for being outgoing, making people laugh and sharing a positive word. He enjoyed traveling and sports and coached his children’s basketball and soccer teams when he was able to. Phil was a devout Christian and brother in Christ to many friends.

Phil is survived by his wife, Denise Cain; his children Logan Cain, Landon Cain, Dylan Cain, Mason Cain, Maren Cain Garcia and her Husband Dereck Garcia, his grandchildren Rowan and Rylen Garcia; his older brothers Raymond Cain and Steven Cain; and his many nieces, nephews, cousins.

There will be a celebration of Phil’s life at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at Allen Family Funeral Options.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
