Phillip Robert Catt, 75, of Robinson, IL, passed away on July 25, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born on February 20, 1947, in Effingham, IL, the son of John Robert & Violet Marie (McCormick) Catt, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Elaine Tracy on October 16, 1965, and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2014.
He is survived by his daughter son-in-law, Julie & Evan Inboden (Findlay, OH) and his grandchildren, Keegan Inboden and Brendan Inboden (Findlay, OH) and many wonderful friends in Illinois and Tennessee.
Phil grew up in the Robinson area and was a 1965 graduate of Robinson High School. He would go on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Returning home, he found work as a journeyman plumber and was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #157 for many years. His retirement years often found Phil outside. He could often be found on a tractor, a four-wheeler, or a deer stand. Phil enjoyed hunting and fishing. An avid hunter with shotgun or bow, he enjoyed hunting deer, quail, turkey, and wild hogs.
A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 28th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29th, at the funeral home, with Jerry and Dwight McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the combined units of the Robinson V.F.W. Post #4549, the Robinson American Legion Post #69, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132. Memorial contributions may be made to the "New Hebron Christian School" or the "Baptist Children's Home" in Carmi, IL, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

We have known Phil for many years and have good memories of our times together. After moving to Tenn he liked to come home to the hunting cabin that he and Jimmy Webb owned. They enjoyed hunting and have many trophy deer on the walls of their cabin. Jimmy helped Phil to continue hunting long after his health failed. He will be missed by all who knew him as a family member and friend.
