Phillip Lee Clark, 78, went to be with his Heavenly Father on November 3, 2025 at 2:55 p.m. after three months of failing health with his family by his side.

A native of Alamance County, Phillip was a 1966 graduate of Western Alamance High School, which was the first four-year graduating class after the school was originally built. In later years, he also drove a school bus for Western Alamance prior to his retirement.

Phillip was a founding member of Christ Memorial Christian Church and attended Country Camping Chapel at Sycamore Lodge. He enjoyed photography, taking trips to the North Carolina mountains, camping, riding on his lawnmower, and watching old country-western TV shows. He was known for his sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes and making people around him laugh. Throughout his working years, he was primarily a meat cutter. However, he also held positions as a real estate agent, as well as an Alamance County Sherriff's Department detention officer.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Mrs. Patrice Kimrey Clark of the home; daughter, Mrs. Tracy Clark Grubb and husband Jim; sister, Mrs. Donna Gayle Johnson; niece, Mrs. Lori Ann Johnson Richardson and husband Robert; nephew, Mr. Clark Lee Johnson and wife Lanie; great nephew, Mr. Evan Wade Johnson and fiancée, Jessica; and great-great nephews, Sutton Wade Johnson and Jayce Alexander Aline. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Margie Simpson Clark and Mr. Royce "Jack" Hurley Clark; maternal grandparents, Mrs. Bertha Sutton Simpson and Mr. William Sanford Simpson; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Lucy Ellington Clark and Mr. John William Clark; and brother-in-law, Mr. Wade Lee Von Johnson.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Ozzie Thompson with the family receiving friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service and other times at his home. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park after the service concludes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
