Phillip K. Dabagia passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025.
He was a U.S. Army Military Police officer veteran and a 20-year veteran of the Michigan City Police Department. After retiring from the MCPD, he was a sales representative at Dabagia Olds-Buick-GMC in Michigan City. He retired after serving as deputy director of La Porte County Corrections and temporary director of La Porte County Juvenile Corrections.
Phil was president of The Islamic Center of Michigan City for many years and was on the boards of the Michigan City Chapter of the Syrian Refugee Committee and Michigan City Interfaith Chapter.
He leaves behind his "Honey Honey" wife of 58 years, Maria (Olweean) Dabagia; sons, David Dabagia and Jaber (Shane Russel) Dabagia; daughter, Jeni (Ron) Conrad; grandchildren, Emily, Evan and Elliot Conrad; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family meant everything to Phil and he was considered the patriarch of the family. Phil took pride in family history and those he looked after. He loved history, genealogy, golf, family and friends and riding his zero-turn lawn mower.
Friends may visit with the family at The Islamic Center of Michigan City, 1606 N. 500 E, Michigan City, IN 46360, on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, from 4 until 9 p.m. with additional visitation on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home located at 613 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. 219-874-4214.
