Phillip Edward Esslinger, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in Harriman, TN.

He was born in Muncie on September 3, 1962 to John Edward Esslinger and Nedra Colleen (Snyder) Esslinger. Both parents have passed away.

Phillip graduated in 1980 from Dickinson Texas High School. He was a dump truck driver and formerly was a volunteer firefighter in San Leon, Texas for two years. He loved being outdoors, with his favorite activities included kayaking, hiking, camping and horseback riding.

Phillip is survived by his son, Chad Massey of Hartford City; siblings, Debbie G. Esslinger of Springfield, IL, Michael D. (wife, Renee) Esslinger of Hartford City, Jerry D. Esslinger of Hartford City, Sheryl L. Barnett of Hartford City and Jessica Giddings of Toledo, OH; several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his sister, Jeannie J. Poole.

Funeral service will be at 3 PM Friday, July 25, 2025 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12 to 3 PM Friday, July 25, 2025 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
