Charles Phillip "Crawfish" Gren, 60, of Ridgeville, SC died Sunday morning, August 18, 2024, in the peace of his home.
Phillip was born to Robert Gren and Dena Rigdon Ambler in Florida on January 29, 1964. Phillip worked for Simmons Construction for 13 years and then Bob Hammond Construction for 21 years. Phillip enjoyed deer hunting, coon hunting and fishing. Phillip was a loving and devoted father to his children. He was known to his friends and family for his rowdiness, laughter and Cajun speaking at times. Phillip was not afraid to express his thoughts and opinions on anything as well. He will be remembered for his saying "If you're scared, say you're scared" as he drank a cold one with a chew. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Gren.
Surviving is wife, Sherry Gren of Summerville, SC, his son, Eric Gren of Ridgeville, daughter, Erica Stephens of Mrytle Beach, his mother Dena Ambler and step- Father Bill Ambler of Goose Creek, SC, his brother Tim Gren and sister-in-law Jami Gren of Goose Creek, SC, a granddaughter, Scarlett Stephens of Barnwell, SC and two nieces Meagan Gren of Tempe, Arizona and Savannah Gren of Tempe, Arizona. He leaves behind many friends and family that will deeply miss him.
A visitation for Phillip will be held Thursday evening, August 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Flowers will be accepted, or the family suggests memorials be made to the Berkeley County Animal Shelter, 131 Central Berkeley Drive, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.

I went all through high school with Philip, he was also my brother's best friend in school. Haven't seen him in a very long time but I'm very sorry he has left us. Debbie (Cole) Herndon
