Phillip Ray Griffis, born on November 26, 1955, left us on his 69th birthday, November 26, 2024. He was born in Lewisburg, TN to Charlie Will and Clara Ruth Ward Griffis.
Phillip was a true lover of the outdoors, where in his younger years, he spent countless hours fishing in his favorite spots. Whether it was battling for the big catch or simply enjoying the quiet serenity of the water, nothing lifted his spirits quite like a day next to the water. He had a passion for football, cheering enthusiastically for his favorite teams, and instilling that same love of the game in those around him.
Many cherished memories include the time Phillip spent with family delivering newspapers-a route that turned into an adventure filled with laughter and stories. Those rides were more than just a job; they were a chance to bond, share dreams, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Brenda Rogers Griffis. He is survived by his brother, Wayne Griffis, sister, Linda Deering, three nephews, one niece, two great nephews, three great nieces and numerous great great nephews and nieces.
Visitation for Phillip Griffis will be at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with burial following at Diana Cemetery.
