Philip Chandler Hastings Jr., of Cloquet, MN, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Thursday, August 28th, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born on December 20th, 1934, in Randolph, MA to Philip and Sarah (Tennyson) Hastings, Philip was one of seven children. After graduating high school, Philip enlisted in the United States Air Force, later enlisting in the United States Army, where he retired as Master Sargeant. He had three children, Jill, Christine, and Philip III.

After retiring from the military, Philip wore several hats, including security guard at a hospital, submarine welder, and a school bus driver. He loved his cats, enjoyed bowling, and had a great garden. He was most interested in family history and genealogy, tracking down family members and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters; brothers; and other extended family.

Philip is survived by his children; Jill (Kenneth) Branning, Christine Ticer, Philip (Jennifer) Hastings; grandchildren, Shane, Jessica, Tony, Stephanie, Jenny, Philip, Moriah, Daniel, Christianne, Mikayla; great-grandchildren, and many relatives and loved ones.

Per Philip's request, there will be no funeral services. Inurnment will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery-Duluth at a later date.
