Phillip L. Herbaugh, age 60, from Green, Ohio, formerly from Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on January 7, 2026.
Born on February 27, 1965, Phillip pursued a distinguished education, graduating from Shepherd College and the University of Akron School of Law.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Herbaugh; his brother, Christopher Herbaugh; and his maternal grandparents, John & Ruth Swisher, paternal grandparents, Lafayette Herbaugh, and June C. Ridenour, as well as father-in-law Kenneth Rizer.
Phillip is survived by his spouse, Kimberly Rizer Herbaugh of Hudson, OH, his daughter, Lindsay Herbaugh of Hudson, OH, his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Kathryn Herbaugh of Cleveland, OH. His loving mother, Judith Herbaugh of Edgewater, FL, sister, Mindy Wade and brother-in-law, Mike Wade, of Hagerstown, MD and loving nieces and nephews, Emma & Madison Wade, Bradley Moats, Braeden Peterson & Joseph DeBright. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Marlene Rizer, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brian & Michelle Rizer, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Keli Rizer Panaccione & Al Panaccione and special cousin and friend, Matt Rizer.
Phil’s life will be remembered by his love & dedication to his family, his career as an attorney, and his love for music- specifically Bruce Springsteen.
Phil’s easy-going, humorous, and caring personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held in Hagerstown, MD at a later date with immediate family and close friends.
