Lori Ann Herbaugh, age 57, of
Glendive, Montana passed away on Wednesday, August 28th at her home. Lori did not want a funeral, but the family invites her friends to a Celebration of Life from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at the Moose Lodge in
Glendive, MT. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Lori was born in
Glendive, Montana on February 1, 1967 to Norman and Sherry Ulrich, where she graduated from Dawson County High School with the class of 1986. Growing up, Lori participated in gymnastics, was on the Speech and Drama team, and acted in school plays. Lori loved music, with some of her favorite artists being Stevie Nicks and Trace Adkins. She was the Queen of Amazon. Her kids always made jokes that her house was like an Amazon warehouse. Lori enjoyed her late-night phone calls with her best friend, Rhonda Westman.
For many years, Lori worked as a waitress at CC's Cafe, eventually taking over and running the Trail Star with her sister, Joy, and her mother, Sherry. Most recently, Lori worked at Glendive Medical Center with the surgery unit. Lori loved her job at the hospital and considered her co-workers her family.
When not working, you could find Lori hosting Auntie crafting and baking days with her favorite little people. Lori was the best auntie around, not only to the littles, but to her adult nieces and nephews as well. Lori always told her nieces and nephews she wouldn't attend their sporting events, but she would be there if they ever needed to be bailed out of jail. Luckily, she never had to bail anyone out of jail, but she undoubtedly would have answered that call. As her niece Hailey said, everyone needed an Auntie Lori in their life.
Lori's purpose in life was to be a mother. She was gentle, kind, and nurturing, but she could also be counted on for a much-needed dose of tough love. Lori loved her kids fiercely and was so proud of each of them. Whenever they needed anything, they could always count on Mom. She never hesitated to be there for them when times were tough and was always the first to be there when it was time to celebrate their successes.
Lori's greatest wish in life was to be a grandmother. On May 23, 2023, Lori's wish came true when her granddaughter, Isla, was born. Lori was a proud grandma, always showing off pictures of her sweet grandbaby. Isla was the apple of Grandma Lori's eye.
Lori will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. You could always count on Lori for a laugh. In her family, Lori was known for her famous gift wrap pranks, which included wrapping gifts with layers of duct tape, zip ties, plaster, a loaf of bread, and other ridiculous things.
Lori is preceded in death by her father, Doug Hendrickson, brother Scott Ulrich, brothers-in-law, Dave Cantrall and Don Reed, nephew Dalton Holeman, and grandmother, Joyce Flynn.
Lori is survived by her mother Sherry (Del) Schulte of Glendive and her father Norman (Joann) Ulrich of Ladysmith, WI; her children Marissa Herbaugh of Circle, Montana, Taylor (Ben) Herbaugh of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Hunter Herbaugh of Miles City, Montana, Connor (Ashley) Herbaugh of Abilene, Texas; her granddaughter Isla Herbaugh of Abilene, Texas; her siblings Joy Ulrich of Glendive, Leslie (Kent) Stein of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Heather Ulrich of Temecula, California, Jenny (Gary) Koering of Crosby, Minnesota, Tammy Reed of Glendive, Shannon (Jerry) Hughes of Sidney, Montana, Ryan (Amber) Ulrich of Commerce City, Colorado, Jason (Tawnee) Sasse of Glendive, Gretta (Doug) Korhonen of Ladysmith, Wisconsin, and Todd (Jennifer) Dahlstrom of Ladysmith, Wisconsin; her best friend, Rhonda Westman of Badger, Minnesota, her favorite great nieces and nephews Quinn Ulrich-Naasz, Westin Sasse, Colden Sasse, and Rowyn Sasse, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
