Phillip J. Huss

Phillip J. Huss, age 83, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Peoria, IL. He was born on October 31, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Peter and Gladys Huss of Glenview, Illinois.

Phillip proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and love of country. He later continued his service through the Army National Guard, where he worked as a recruiter, helping guide and mentor others in their own paths of service.

Professionally, Phillip spent the majority of his career as a Sales Manager for Sears Industrial.

Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Bonita (Mensendike) Huss, and his children: Audrey (Huss) Kirkbride and her husband Douglas of Pana, Illinois; Lesley (Huss) Weaver of Bartonville, Illinois; Courtney (Huss) Langhoff and her husband Matthew of East Peoria, Illinois; and Casey Huss and his wife Gina (Brophy) of Holly Springs, North Carolina.

He was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy. Phillip will be deeply missed.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Gladys Huss, and granddaughter, Sophia Langhoff.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1010 S. Louisa Street, Peoria, Illinois. A private family burial will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois after the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phillip's name to: St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
