Phillip A. Kenney

Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Kenney, 82, of Gilbert, LA, will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Apostolic Faith Chapel with Bro. James Warbington, Bro. James Harris, Bro. Clay Nichols and Bro. Rodney Ratcliff officiating. Interment to follow at Oakley Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Phillip was born on October 28, 1943, in Wisner, LA to Willie Eugene and Mary Kimball Kenney and passed from this life on March 2, 2026, at his home in Gilbert surrounded by family and friends.

Phillip grew up farming, hunting and riding horses. He worked hard and loved life. He was an ironworker for a few years before driving a truck for Head Concrete for 39 years. After that, when needed, he drove a truck for his son Clay during harvest. He was a faithful member of Apostolic Faith Chapel and was always willing to help out at the church in any way he could. He was a wonderful, caring father and grandfather and spending time with his family is what he loved the most. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Amos Kenney, Tillman "Hoss" Kenney, Henry "Tomboy" Kenney, Sonny Kenney and Chester Kenney; sisters, Bernice Gillespie, Louella Boothe, Lillie Roberts, Ruth Stephens and Margie Roberts.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Jan Warbington Kenney; children, Kim Phillips(Charles) of Sicily Island, Art Kenney(Saige) of Liddieville, and Clay Kenney(Katie) of Gilbert; grandchildren, Whitney Lively(Tyler), Briar Gallup(Allie), Brooke Kenney, Kaylee Haring(Dustin), Hunter Kenney, Aubree Kenney, Spencer Kenney and Tyler Rose Kenney; great-grandchildren, Baya Lively, Tyde William and Keaton Gallup; he is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, the Warbington family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Jay Barfield, Donnie Chappel, Dub Johnson, Mark Wesberry, Stacey Boone and Terry Kimball.

Honorary pallbearers are Guy Barfield, Henry Roberts, Loyd Caldwell, Billy Earl Hammond, Allen Boone, Gene Kenney, Glenn Kenney, Robby Roberts, Toby Roberts, Mike McDonald, Butch Kenney, Billy Kenney, Tony Boothe, Lester Kenney, Donald Stephens and the men of Apostolic Faith Chapel.
