Phillip Ray King, age 77, died at his Brentwood home on December 29, 2025 following a brief illness. For 30 years, he was employed as a union sheet metal worker in the Bay Area. He was affectionately known by friends and loved ones as the "Philly Dog."

Growing up in Los Angeles and later in Antioch, Phil graduated from Antioch High School in 1966. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in 1969 and was in the US Air Force from 1967-1971. He attended Laney College of Oakland for his sheet metal trade training. Phillip enjoyed camping, boating on the Delta and Lake Tahoe, abalone diving along the Mendocino coast and watching football games and movies with loved ones.

He is survived by his only child, Paula King of Oakley; his grandchildren, Christian and Samantha Young; his son-in-law, Davey Young; his ex-wife of 27 years, Karin Rodriguez King; and his only sibling, Kevin King. Phillip was preceded in death by his two parents, Mary Louise King and Lester King both of Antioch.

His cremated ashes will be scattered in the Mendocino coast this spring where his father is now resting in peace. Funeral services will be private with family.
