The family of Master Chief Phillip Richard "Pete" Michaud, Sr., is saddened to announce his passing on November 10, 2025, at his home in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Phillip was born on January 23, 1943, in West Warwick, Rhode Island.

Pete led a life marked by resilience and dedication. He served with distinction in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years, achieving the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. His military career reflected a steadfast commitment to duty and leadership. Following his retirement from the Coast Guard, he continued his connection to the sea as a commercial fisherman; embracing the challenges and rewards of life on the water and acting as a mentor to many. He was known for his hardworking nature and generosity. A gifted storyteller with many adventures, Pete had a unique ability to bring people together through his vivid recollections-whether tales from his life at sea or cherished memories shared among family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life of strength and service.

He is remembered with love by his wife Frances (Silva) Michaud; his four children Phillip Michaud Jr. (Tammy), Leonard Michaud (Maria), Heather Rodrigues (Michael), and Jacob Michaud; as well as six grandchildren Phillip III, Jacques, Olivia, Christian, Michael Jr., and Esther.

A service will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne (off Connery Ave in Buzzards Bay) on Tuesday December 2, 2025 at 10:00AM. There will be a reception to follow at Phil and Tammy Michaud's home, located at 34 Pleasant St. Sagamore, MA.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
