Phillip Sneed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Elliott Mortuary & Crematory - Hutchinson on Nov. 23, 2025.
Phillip Clayton Sneed, 79, of Nickerson, Kansas, went to be with his Lord on November 20th, 2025. He was born in Ashland, Kansas, on September 11, 1946, to Lloyd and Eva (Baker) Sneed.

At the age of 17, Phillip enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving from 1963 to 1971, including service in the Vietnam War. He deeply respected the American flag and honored his country throughout his life. After returning from service, he met and married the love of his life, Dianna (Butler) Sneed, on November 6, 1971. Together, they shared 54 wonderful years.

He retired from M. Bruenger after a long and dedicated career as an over-the-road truck driver, completing 25 years of service.

Phil and Dianna were blessed with two children and their spouses: Demetria & Mel Meyer of Lander, Wyoming, and PJ & Dana Sneed of Nickerson, Kansas. He was the proud grandfather of four grandchildren: Chelsey (Michael) Cooke, Alyssa Meyer, Haley Sneed (Niall Sheerins), and Tanner Sneed; and the great-grandfather of six: Adyn, Owen, Axton, Satele, Eyan, and Skylar.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his loyal four-legged companion, Camo.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Eva Sneed, and his sisters: Martha Miller, Phyllis Roberts and Ruth Ann Godfrey.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Hospice House of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary 1219 N Main St, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
