Phillip Rene Thompson 60, of 35 Rosedale Drive was called from labor on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Spartanburg Medical Center.
Native of Greenville County, SC, he was a son of the late Roy Thompson and the late Jessie Mae Wright.
Educated in the Spartanburg County School District, he was a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School class of 1983.
He joined Mayfield Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and was a former employee of Theo's Restaurant in Greer, SC.
Phillip loved fishing and watching his favorite football team, "The Dallas Cowboys."
Surviving are: a son, Tykie Wakefield of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Charles Edward (Mae Alice) Wright of Spartanburg, SC, Bobby Joe Wright of Duncan, SC and Ronnie (Valery) Wright of Greer, SC; sisters, Patricia Foster of Greenville, SC, Mary Littlejohn of Spartanburg, SC, Sally Lomax of Duncan, SC and Lela ( Michael) Austin of Duncan; 2 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday February 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in The Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Grady Brooks, officiating.
