Phyllis Pauline Palmer Ady, 73, a resident of Smithville, Ohio and formerly of Monroe County, died following a brief illness on Saturday evening November 1, 2025 surrounded by family in Wooster Community Hospital. She was born in Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio on February 6, 1952, a daughter of the late Charles Basil Palmer and Ruth Marie Henthorn Palmer.
Phyllis was an Assistant Manager at Family Dollar in Orrville, Ohio. She enjoyed Bible work, studying the Bible, crocheting, drinking an ice-cold Pepsi, eating chocolate covered cherries, spending time with family and rocking all of her grand-babies to sleep.
Rejoined again in Heaven with her truest love, Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles; a sister-in-law, Linda; two daughters-in- law, Pam and Rachel; three nieces, Ruthann, Brenda, and Chestin; also a nephew, RJ.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Ray Ady, Jr. of Smithville and Mark (Kathleen) Ady of Smithville; one daughter, Melissa Ady (Rob Nussbaum) of Smithville; two brothers, Chuck Palmer of Belmont County and Eddie (Cristy) Pittman of Wooster; two sisters, Shirley (Greg) Brown of Woodsfield and Crystal Thomas of Massillon; eight grandchildren, Jared (Tori) Ady, Travis (Ashley) Felter, Jessica Robinson, Cole Schultz, James Redfern, Lauryn (Andrew) Dias, Jonathan Mast, and Jaden Ady; four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Amiah, Carter, and Conor.
Visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home - Harper Chapel, Beallsville, Saturday, November 8 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 3pm. Following the service, a celebratory meal will be provided at the Beallsville First Christian Church. All are welcome to join with the family in celebrating the beautiful life that Phyllis lived.
To help with expenses, the family requests that in lieu of flowers and keepsakes, memorial contributions be made to Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912.
